Matte lips are very tricky as no matter how amazing they look when done rightly there is always the risk of failing and ending up with cracked, dry looking lips. Why does this happen? Well regular lipsticks have moisturizing formulas that smooth your lips and make them look soft and plump, while matte lipsticks do not contain such formulas, a fact which maximizes the risk of having dry lips.
Of course, all the above mentioned shouldn’t be considered a serious reason to forget about having matte lips as there are some tricks to avoid unwanted results and get the perfect matte lips.
Exfoliate
Before applying matte lipstick on make sure you exfoliate your lips well. To do so, first of all apply a lip scrub and rub carefully to get rid of dry patches. For better results opt for a scrub that contains cocoa butter and shea butter.
