Vintage is the name as the online fashion retailer, Nasty Gal gave us surprising interpretations of Chanel ensembles during the 80s and 90s in its lookbook. Stunners Staz Lindes and Corrie looked elegantly chic as they sported bomber leather jackets, mini-skirts and tops. The duo sported Chanel’s classic jackets but also made appearance in retro apparels. They are even made more beautiful as Micahel Hauptman found their best angles while lensing them.
A collection of over 100 Vintage Chanel items was launched by the online brand as it launched The Ultimate Score. The Nasty Gal Vintage Chanel Lookbook just made us realize that vintage looks cooler than the credit we give them. The lookbook featured all items that qualified as fabulously vintage that include quilted logo bags, jewelry, charms, skirts and crop tops.
Since Nasty Gal aims in selling items under $200, the move to feature Vintage Chanel on their lookbook came as a surprise. Yet, according to Nasty Gal vintage buyer Liz Franczak: Chanel is a next-level label. When we launched The Score, which is the higher-end vintage section of our site, we saw that any time we put a Chanel piece in the store, it would fly out the door in 20 minutes”, proving how highly in demand the label is.
Apart from the miniskirts and bomber jackets, also featured in the lookbook are cool blazers, chunky necklaces, eyewear as well as glamorous bunch of strappy sandals, pumps, platforms and oxfords.
As Nasty Gal is known for its quirky yet vibrant taste in fashion, its Vintage Chanel Lookbook isn’t one to be exempted with their style. As in any collaboration or items, the vintage Chanel lookbook was a reflection of the latest trend that will make a fabulous statement in the coming days. The Ultimate Score lookbook provides a way for fashionistas to be fashionable while staying on their comfort zones. As vintage theme was given different twists and interpretations on the Spring 2014 Fashion week, the choice of theme couldn’t have been more timely.
The choice of colors is wise and fun as yellow meets black or white loves red. We also love how the colors fit well with the theme with red and black being the prominent shades.
Since Chanel is synonymous to expensive class, it is just natural that the items on Ultimate Score lookbook have higher price range. We all know how buying is an investment that between I find the price between $378 and $7200 quite justifiable. Consequently, the most expensive piece from the new line is the Vintage Chanel Anouk Quilted Leather Jacket.
On the other hand, Liz emphasized that they have a seafoam of mini skirt that comes with a jacket and small crop top. The getup is reminiscent to now, which is what Liz thinks when one mentions Nasty Gal vintage. In addition to that, she said that they don’t sell items that aren’t wearable. From their point of view, everything, regardless of the era feels modern to them. Seeing how Staz and Corrie posed gamely on the camera, we couldn’t argue more.
