After raving and ranting the brilliant and recently concluded fashion weeks in different place, our time to ponder on the spring 2014 beauty trends started. Although designers had different take when it comes to their collections, there is no denying that when in the cosmetics area, they appeared to be united, synchronized as though they had convened for their theme, or hadn’t they? Whatever speculations I have, I better keep it to myself. However, what I cannot keep is the fact that the makeup and beauty trends keep me on my toes and motivated me to look forward for the next season. Here are just few of the reasons why beauty will be at its finest in spring 2014:
Au Natural Beauty
For the lazy day, effortless and natural beauty can come in handy. The au natural style was exemplified in both London and New York fashion week with models taking pride with their flawless skin. However, this trend was huge on Milan fashion week. Models flawless skin was made as a good canvass with their cheeks a subtle hint of rose blush, and barely-there makeup. Peachy lips completed the look made possible by lip gloss.
For your Eyes Only
Green eye makeup resurrected for quite a time yet the two new shades made me decide to give it another twist. Giorgio Armani’s show had models with Jade smudge eye shadow while Prada had painted apple green tones across the eyelids.
Pop of Orange Pucker
Although pale lips are quite in for the spring-summer-2014, this doesn’t mean that other rich lip colors aren’t given their share of limelight. In point of fact, traces of bold tones such electric orange is flirting with the model’s pout. This vibrant color made appearances in DKNY, Prabal Gurung and Rag&Bone. Now, are you thinking of ditching your red lipstick?
Muted Pout
Meanwhile, if you are the opposite who wanted to take a rest of vibrantly colored pout, then pale lips can suit you just fine. Gucci, Fendi and Missoni did these with peachy and pale lips, why not try this?
Undone Hairstyles
If you are not much of a fan for combs and brush, well then lucky you! Fashion week held in different places seemed to agree that the best hair looks are those that don’t require much time and effort. And that is what maybe the Emporio Armani show had on mind with their “who cares about my hair” model look. This hairstyle was also emphasized in Pucci show with long hair swept to the side and partings were all over. Messed up volumes were also quite noticeable. More so, if not for volume, spring 2014 suggest hair that will look flat.
Meanwhile, hair accessories were also into attention-trip with models sporting flowers adorned around their hair. Dolce & Gabbana had flower headbands while Moschino opted for the not so girly hair adornment with its big black now. Braids and pony hairstyles are also next year’s staple although we can greatly see that hairstyles are more into the relaxed and undone side.
